I'm thinking of getting a Betta fish and I;m one of those weird people who like to name there fish so I wondered if you had any ideas? |
ps I googled for a picture of blue bettas and these are some of the things that came up. |
Metis was the Greek god of wisdom and or prudence mètis was also the Greek word for a quality that combined wisdom and cunning, In an age of corrupt governments and unreliable media this qualities are becoming necessary this blog is designed to make a place that people can share thare wisdom and knowledge. A place to let those who are willing to find the truth. “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”
I love the little mousy one!!! I think you should name it Burūraitoninguboruto...blue lightning bolt in Japanese!! (we might have to think of a nick name for it...heh)
ReplyDeleteCall it Burrito for short.
ReplyDeleteI think that you should call it Charlie.
ReplyDeleteHunter: There is NO hope for you...*sigh*
ReplyDeleteкувалда_кулак: THAT IS SOOOO CUTE!! I like it.
I think Charlie is adorable. Or maybe Freddie. I'm sure whatever you pick will be nice :)
ReplyDeleteHow about fin? :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha...how about Fink?
ReplyDeletehahaha, good thought Erica!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should name the betta Titin
ReplyDeleteum were all those for the Betta or the "little mousy one" ?
ReplyDeleteRennuke: If you REALLY want to name the "little mousy one", you can go ahead and use one of the names suggested. But, as you only asked for names for the betta, that's probably all you got.
ReplyDeleteThats all I wanted but you should notice that the Thimble's statement " I love the little mousy one!!! I think you should name it Burūraitoninguboruto"
ReplyDeletemeans tecnecly means that the name is for the " the little mousy one" now I happen to know that she meant the fish BUT basic English says that the name is a descriptive pronoun ( I think) for the subject in this case, and the subject is " the little mousy one" sinnce most of the comments there after simply say "it" they could mean ether one but they "should" mean "little mousy one " now I'm prity shere Fink, Fin and Burrito are names for the fish but Charlie and Freddie are tossups I think they are for the fish but I just thoiught I'd ask for clarification.
Ps dose "Little mousey one" sould like a good nick name for one of the hill girls?
Rennuke: I never thought of that!! But you are right it dose!!!
ReplyDeleteRennuke (this is the name for the betta) The betta is also known as the Siamese Fighter Fish(Siam is now Thailand). The Thai name for "experienced warrior" is Channarong. And also the Thai name for "weapon" is A-wut. I don't know if either of those names interest you, lol:)
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Thimble! Rennuke was right?! (I never thought I would see the day.)
ReplyDeleteRennuke : lets see......my Google search says that the Betta are also known as "Siamese Fighting Fish". With this in mind, and the propensity for Bettas to kill other Bettas in the area, I think you should call it:
(A): Paranoid
(B):Lone One
(C):Tsunami/Typhoon (D):Shogun(E):Oceanus
I like Oceanus. It sounds cool. What does it mean Gryphon?
ReplyDeleteHuh, that's funny. I've seen that word (oceanus) all my life, but I don't really know what it means. Great, now that bugs me.
ReplyDeleteRennuke: Have you decided yet? You've certainly gotten several cool ideas. Are you going to tell us what you decide on?
Gryphon: Paranoid is cool. Just because one doesn't usually name purpleish-blueish tiny, fish "Paranoid".
Enri: I really like the Chanarong idea. It sounds...well...like something Rennuke would name a fish.
Oceanus was the Titan of the sea in Greek myths. Greeks also believed that outside their known continent was just one large ocean the kept going infinitely. This expanse of water was also coincidentally know as Oceanus.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteGryphon: Oh, okay. Cool! :D
ReplyDeleteGryphon: Did I say that he was "RIGHT"?!?!?!!?!? OH MY WHAT A THOUGHT!!! hehe
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't decided on one but I do like Channarong, Oceanus and Burrito (for short).
ReplyDeleteкувалда_кулак it is kind of well disturbing that you think so but I do think Channaron is something I would name a fish.
Rennuke I'm so sorry, you know how much I hate making people feel disturbed.
ReplyDeleteIt's your very distinct personality that said you would name a purple/blue/pink fish, "Channarong". (that is not a compliment, that's an open, raw insult)
who even said "Channarong"? I can not find it.
ReplyDeleteEnriquetta did. It's down there.
ReplyDeletewow(do not know how I missed that)
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a pretty god one to me.
