Presidents Past

What is your favorite president?
What President would you want to be in office today?

My favorite president is James Polk our most dedicated president. He awoke everyday at 5:00 A.M to do some morning paperwork. after that he had a continental breakfast with his staff,and then he started the official workday.After the work day ended it was usual for Polk to continue on through the night working. it was said that he did the work of ten men in one day. I think that he is my favorite because he threw himself completely into his position,and became perhaps the best servant that this state has ever had.

  1. I know this is the answer every one is expecting but my favorite president is Gorge Washington.  I know, I Know, But really I think he was the best, but the reason I like him the most is in part because he didn't want the job. As he demonstrated meany times he had no desire for power and served purely for his country I think he had a deep fear of God and his in sites on Guv policy are enviable. Keep the government out of det stay out of forne politics and hold to the Constitution no mater what!

  2. One of my more favorite favorites is Theodore Roosevelt. He had quite the sense of adventure and he didn't lack for bravery or humor. He was one of the many  presidents that didn't have a middle name, and his background is a quite a bit different from a lot of the other presidents.

  3. That's exactly what I was thinking Rennuke! George Washington, because he didn't WANT the power. I don't think he really wanted that huge responsibility either, but
    when called upon to to do it, he did it to the best of his ability, and
    made wise decisions to help our country on its way. Even when they wanted to make him King, he refused, and told them that
    they must oppose having a King again. He had power in his grasp, but he
    cared more for the people's future well-being than he did to gain power. He really cared, and he was wise, and did his best to obey God. I love to read stories of the faith of our founding fathers! It's really inspiring, and reminds me of what our country and it's founders stood for!

  4. Just looking at the ways God protected George Washington during the battles is so amazing! God had a plan, with each thing he allowed in George's life, and though George Washington didn't understand why things happened at the time, he trusted God, and later saw the reasons God had let the things he didn't understand happen to him!

  5. My favorite President would have to be Abraham Lincoln. He stood so strongly against slavery and was so willing to give them freedom, despite ridicule.

  7. I think that I should clarify that although I like James Polk as my favorite, I do not think he was the best. I think the best is tied between Reagan and Washington.

  8. I'm a Ronald Reagan fan! Thumbs up to Phoenix!
    I really think Reagan was a strong christian and in turn tried to  incorporate that into his presidency.One thing he did, was to begin with private prayers before Cabinet meetings. There are many other things, but I could be here all day and I need to get to some more school.
    P.S I LOVE that he had a GREAT sense of hummer! I have a picture in one of my school books of him throwing a ball in the WHITE HOSE!! Hehehe (that sounds like something I wound do! hhmm maybe more like clime a  big white pillar and then fall down.(;

  11. Nixon. If I'm right in thinking he was the one mixed up in the Watergate affair. (umm, the only reason he's my least favorite is because I haven't read multiple biographies on each and every President, like SOMEONE must have)

  12. I agree with gryph that bill clinton was the worst president that this country has ever had, but obama is ranking pretty high to right now for the simple fact that he doing every thing wrong
